Jujutsu Kaisen RUMBLE: SURVIVATON Delayed to 2027: What Fans Need to Know

Jujutsu Kaisen RUMBLE: SURVIVATON has become one of the most noticeable Jujutsu Kaisen stories of September 2026, but not because of a new anime episode. Shueisha Games and the studio poncle have announced that the multiplayer survivors-royale game will no longer arrive in 2026 and has instead been moved to 2027. The update landed just before Tokyo Game Show 2026, where a playable build is scheduled to appear.

The project was originally introduced as an eight-player survival experience built around the characters, curses and combat style of the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. Its core idea is easy to understand: enter a match, defeat waves of enemies, become stronger, collect or unlock abilities, compete with rival players and survive long enough to reach the final showdown. That structure takes inspiration from the modern survivors-royale and bullet-heaven format popularized by games such as Vampire Survivors, while using Jujutsu Kaisen characters and abilities as its identity.

Why the 2027 delay matters

Shueisha Games said the team had been working toward a 2026 release but decided to move the launch to 2027 in order to deliver a better player experience. That makes the delay less about a simple change of date and more about development time. The company has not announced a new exact launch day, so 2027 is currently the confirmed window rather than a specific release date.

For fans, the extra development period could be important because this kind of game depends heavily on balance, repeatable combat and online stability. A survivors-style title can look simple on the surface, yet small issues with enemy spawning, character upgrades, progression pacing or multiplayer performance can dramatically change how enjoyable a long session feels. More development time gives the team room to tune those systems before the wider launch.

What the new trailer shows

The September trailer puts more emphasis on the game's enemy roster and the structure of its battles. Crunchyroll reported that the trailer showcases eight bosses, including Naoya Zenin, Kenjaku, Junpei Yoshino, Jogo, Mahito, Uraume, Eso and Toji Fushiguro. That is a useful look at the variety players can expect because these characters come from different parts of Jujutsu Kaisen's world and have very different abilities and visual identities.

The official trailer also confirms a 2027 target and highlights the central loop: players use Jujutsu Kaisen characters, survive against curses and rivals, grow stronger through combat and aim to become the last player standing. The game supports up to eight players, while solo play is also planned, which means it is being designed for both competitive sessions and more relaxed single-player runs.

Platforms and release plans

When Jujutsu Kaisen RUMBLE: SURVIVATON launches, the announced platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam. That is a broad platform list for a multiplayer spin-off and also means the developers will have to balance performance across current-generation consoles and PC hardware.

The Steam listing describes the game as a survivors-royale experience in which players battle cursed spirits and rival sorcerers while growing stronger during a match. The official Shueisha Games page also lists support for one to eight players. Because the release is still in development, the company has not yet finalized a public price.

Tokyo Game Show 2026 playtest

The delay does not mean fans have to wait until 2027 to see how the game feels. Shueisha Games is planning a world-first playtest at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs from September 17 through September 21 at Makuhari Messe. The playtest gives the developers a chance to put the game in front of players while also collecting real-world feedback before the final release.

That is one of the more interesting parts of this announcement. A delay can sound like bad news, but a public test build can make the development process more transparent. Players can experience the combat loop, see how upgrades work and judge whether the Jujutsu Kaisen abilities translate naturally into a survivors-style system.

What fans should watch next

The most important upcoming details are a final 2027 release date, a clearer look at the full playable roster, more information about progression and balance, and confirmation of how online matchmaking will work. The Tokyo Game Show build should also provide more clues about the game's performance and overall pacing.

For Jujutsu Kaisen fans, the project remains an unusual expansion of the franchise. It is not trying to reproduce the main anime as a conventional fighting game or action adventure. Instead, it takes the characters and supernatural battles of the series and places them inside a fast, replayable survival format.

The key update today is therefore simple: Jujutsu Kaisen RUMBLE: SURVIVATON is now scheduled for 2027. The game is still active, a new trailer has arrived, and a public playtest is planned for Tokyo Game Show 2026. Until the next release-date announcement, those are the milestones worth following.
