Nintendo’s October 28 Indie World showcase spotlighted games arriving across Switch and Switch 2, including Witchbrook, Winds of Viridia and four new demos available through the eShop.

Nintendo used its October 28, 2026 Indie World showcase to spotlight a broad set of independent games for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The presentation focused on a mix of cosy simulations, action adventures, roguelikes and unusual smaller-scale projects, with releases spread across the rest of 2026 and into 2027.

Among the most visible titles were Witchbrook, Tenjutsu and Kitsune: The Journey of Adashino. Nintendo also highlighted four free demos arriving through the eShop: Haunted Paws, Petal Runner, RACCOIN: Chaos Max Edition and the newly revealed Winds of Viridia.

Two games with clear dates or windows

Witchbrook, from Chucklefish, is a witch-life simulation game designed for up to four players online. Nintendo lists January 28, 2027 as its release date on Switch 2 and Switch. Players take on the role of a new resident of Mossport and attend Witchbrook College while building relationships and exploring the town.

Winds of Viridia is a fantasy action-adventure from Shark Jump, planned for Switch 2 in early 2027. Nintendo describes movement built around running, sliding, grappling and aerial traversal, with a demo announced for the eShop as part of the showcase rollout.

Why the showcase matters for Switch 2

Independent games can help a new console build a wider library between major first-party releases. The showcase suggests Nintendo is continuing to position Switch 2 as a platform for both ambitious indie projects and smaller games that experiment with genre and presentation. The presence of demos is also useful: it lets players test the feel of a game before committing to a purchase.

Not every title has a firm release day yet. For games described only as “later this year” or “early 2027”, players should treat those windows as provisional until the developer or Nintendo posts a more precise date.

Insight Forge takeaway: Nintendo’s October 28 Indie World showcase spotlighted games arriving across Switch and Switch 2, including Witchbrook, Winds of Viridia and four new demos available through the eShop.
