Nintendo's September 8, 2026 Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct revealed a major new release for Nintendo Switch 2: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in an anniversary edition. Nintendo says the game launches on November 5.
Ocarina of Time Gets a New Presentation
The anniversary edition features overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, symphonic orchestral music and reworked camera and movement controls. It is a new way to experience one of Nintendo's most influential adventure games on modern hardware.
More Than a Game
Nintendo's celebration also includes a concert series and anniversary products and activities extending through 2026 and into 2027. The Zelda anniversary therefore spans games, music, merchandise and themed experiences.
Why Fans Are Interested
Ocarina of Time remains a landmark title in 3D action-adventure design. A modernized presentation gives returning players an excuse to revisit Hyrule while giving newer audiences a more accessible way into the classic.
