SILENT HILL: Townfall arrives on September 24, 2026, bringing the long-running psychological horror series to a new setting and a first-person perspective. Konami confirms that the game launches on PlayStation 5, Steam and the Epic Games Store, with the title developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by Annapurna Interactive and KONAMI.
The game takes place on the remote Scottish island of St. Amelia. Players step into the role of Simon Ordell, who is called back to the desolate island with an instruction to put things right. From there, fog, isolation, strange signals and unexplained events become the core of the experience.
A first-person Silent Hill
Townfall's move to first-person changes how the player experiences the series' signature atmosphere. A limited field of view makes environmental sound and spatial awareness more important because threats can exist outside the player's immediate line of sight.
Konami's promotional material also emphasizes narrative-driven puzzles, tense encounters and a CRTV pocket television that becomes an important tool during exploration. The device is not simply decoration: it can help reveal fragments of the island's story while becoming part of the game's mystery.
The island of St. Amelia
Instead of the familiar American environments associated with earlier Silent Hill stories, Townfall uses a cold and isolated Scottish setting. The remote island gives the game a different visual language, with heavy fog, deserted structures and a feeling that the player is far from help.
That isolation fits the psychological-horror formula because the environment can become part of the threat. The player is expected to explore areas without having complete information about what happened there or what the strange signals and clues are trying to reveal.
Gameplay and puzzles
Townfall combines exploration with combat and narrative puzzles. Simon has to move through dangerous areas, interpret environmental clues and use the CRTV to interact with information hidden inside the setting.
Konami describes the combat as frenetic, while the official material also highlights evasion and the gradual uncovering of a buried truth. The focus is therefore not only on fighting enemies but on understanding why the island has become the center of the story.
PS5 and PC versions
The game launches on PS5, Steam and Epic Games Store. PlayStation's detailed feature coverage says the PS5 version uses platform hardware features such as 3D Audio, while the first-person perspective increases the importance of directional sound.
For players who choose the Digital Deluxe Edition, Konami announced 48-hour early access as part of the digital pre-order offering. Standard and Deluxe editions also include different bonus items, making the edition differences relevant to players planning to start at launch.
Why the launch is notable
Townfall is arriving after the recent return of the Silent Hill franchise and represents another attempt to reinterpret the series' core ideas rather than simply repeat an earlier formula. A Scottish island, a first-person camera and a strange portable television create a different framework for psychological horror while keeping the series' emphasis on atmosphere and mystery.
With the September 24 release date now here, players on PS5 and PC can step into St. Amelia and begin investigating Simon's strange return. For fans following the series, the biggest question is not just what monsters are waiting in the fog, but what the island's story is trying to make Simon understand.
